Our History
 Aastra OnDemand builds upon almost 30 years of experience serving the needs of large demanding customers with high performance, highly reliable PBX and call center systems.
Our legacy began in 1979 with the founding of Intecom, Inc. that went on to become one of the industries most innovative organizations with a number of industry firsts, including the world's first commercial IP-PBX system in 1996. Intecom's products included the IBX, Intecom-E and Pointspan generations of its non-blocking, highly redundant, and massively scalable PBX system as well as the Callwise and Centergy families of call center products.
In addition to its world class products, Intecom developed a set of service capabilities tailored to the needs of its large customers. Providing support from its centralized Customer Support Center as well as its field service organization, Intecom gained a reputation for delivering 6 nines of reliability (99.9999% uptime).
In 2005, Intecom — then a unit of Paris-based EADS Telecom — was acquired by Aastra Technologies, Ltd. of Toronto and renamed Aastra Intecom. Aastra immediately recognized that the expertise Intecom had possessed for designing and operating systems for large enterprises could be directly applied to companies of any size in the form of the fast-growing hosted services model.
Aastra OnDemand is now delivering hosted contact center and business continuity services to forward-thinking enterprises, institutions of higher learning, not-for-profit organizations and government agencies.
